I’ve survived week 1 of my Lorisian elimination programme – already starting to notice that I’m a lot less bloated by cutting out my severe and borderline reaction foods for just 1 week. Some of the meals I’ve had over the past 7 days have not been the most interesting. But I’ve discovered some new, great finds!
5 of my week 1 highlights:
- Sweet potato hash – the recipe I follow can be found here. Sweet potato hash has been a great breakfast meal, I prepped everything on Sunday night which saved a lot of time in the mornings
- Introducing duck eggs – in the Lorisian guide book I read that people that react to chicken egg do not always react to duck egg. So, on Saturday I decided to try a duck egg frittata, it was loveeely! So far I’ve not reacted, so I’m hoping this means duck eggs can now replace chicken eggs in my diet

- Finding MOR sausages – I’ve discovered my love for MOR sausages! Their pork, beetroot and bramley apple sausages meet my new dietary requirements. They taste SO good with Dove Farm’s brown rice spaghetti, topped with Marks & Spencer’s Cherry Tomato & Balsamic pasta sauce. I’m sure I’ll be having this new meal most weeks now 😍.

- Discovering Redbush tea – I’ve managed to find a tea supplement that tastes pretty close to the real thing! Tetley redbush tea tastes pretty good with almond milk. A great hot, caffeine-free drink to have instead of tea or coffee ☕️.

- Enjoying my roast dinner – VERY happy that I can still enjoy a lovely roast dinner on a Sunday. Tesco’s chicken gravy is a product that I can still have, I just have to cut out the carrots and stuffing mix

Week 1 has definitely been tough though! I’ve found most of my meals to be quite repetitive, but when I look back at the small results I’m already starting to notice, and think about the new finds I’ve found, it makes me realise this 3 month programme will be worth it in the long run.
