Lorisian IgG test

In May 2017 I was diagnosed with coeliac disease, as well as discovering I was intolerant to both lactose and soy. Despite cutting these allergens out of my diet I still had bad symptoms, which always led me to believe that there was more going on than I was aware of, it turned out that was the case after all!

I’ve recently taken a Lorisian IgG test, which is a test that looks at over 150 different food ingredients to see if you have an IgG antibody reaction to any of them. It’s a really great test and one that you can do yourself at home. It looks at all foods you’ve eaten over the past 6 weeks and give you results in a table that shows you which foods you have a severe reaction to and which are borderline. You then get given a booklet that explains how you eliminate these foods for 3-12 months and how you can go about re-introducing them to see which ones you can bring back into your diet. More info can be found here – www.lorisian.com

My test has brought a number of additional intolerances to light. The test helped me establish that I’m not intolerant to just lactose, but actually all dairy and after cutting out dairy for just 3 days so far, I’m already noticing a massive difference! Other intolerances that I’ve discovered are to cranberry, chia seeds, yeast, peach, chickpea, lentils, chilli pepper, goat’s milk, plantain, anise seed, rhubarb, sesame seeds, coffee, tea, cashews, chamomile, mango, lime, blackcurrant, corn, egg white, carrot, pepper, paprika, bamboo shoots and pomegranate – its a very long list when you include gluten and soy too!

I’m starting my elimination diet properly on Monday, but have been cutting out those that I have a ‘severe reaction’ to for a couple of days now, I’m already noticing a difference! I’ve done a few large food shops at Planet Organic, Tesco and Ocado and am stocked up for the week ahead. I’ve found a wide selection of different rice packs, some MOR FOOD sausages that do not contain chickpea flour (YAY!), lots of veggies, different types of meat and some rice pasta from Doves Farm. All my snacks for the week are from Planet Organic, especially excited to have my Deliciously Ella snacks and my new buckwheat crispbreads with some vegan cheese I’ve found πŸ™‚

Over the past couple of days I’ve had some pretty good meals, a few are below. Meatballs with Doves Farm rice spaghetti, violife cheesey jacket potato with butternut, chicken stir fry with The Coconut Company teriyaki sauce and sausages and mash with gravy. All were compliant with my allergies and tasted super good πŸ™‚

I’ll be sharing my meals as usual on my Instagram – coeli_hacks but would really appreciate you sharing any great recipes that exclude all of the above foods, or even some that include a few that I can just cut out. Any great stir fry sauces that you can cook with would be fab too! Unfortunately I’m struggling to find one anywhere that doesn’t contain any spice.

I’ll be sure to post with any new recipes once I’ve completed week 1!
